Remington Wet 2 Straight Flat Iron Review
I recently got my hands on the Remington Wet 2 Straight Flat Iron. Today’s post is going to be a review of the product, so read on if you want to know if this hair tool is right for you.
Let jump right into the review!
According to the product description from the Remington website:
The Wet 2 Straight 1″ Flat Iron with Soy Hydra Complex conditions, dries & straightens wet hair for the ultimate smooth finish.
Traditional styling methods of blowdrying then straightening can cause stress and overheating, leaving your hair damaged & brittle. Unique steam vents on top of this flat iron safely remove water from damp hair, allowing you to dry & style at the same time! This creates a longer-lasting beautiful finish.
Soy protein is known for nourishing and moisturizing skin and hair. Next generation ceramic plates on this flat iron are infused with soy hydra conditioners creating healthy, shiny hair. These conditioners last the life of the flat iron, leaving no oily residue.
- Soy Infused Ceramic Plates

My take on the product:
It’s not a bad hair styling tool at all.
✦You really can straighten your wet hair and end up with dry & pretty straight hair
✦Hair doesn’t feel dry or damaged after used on DRY hair
✦It has a variety of heat settings. If you don’t need too much heat you can use the lowest setting and it will work well, but if you have thick coarse hair the higher settings will straighten your hair just fine.
✦Doesn’t snag onto hair
✦It does heat up in 30 seconds (maybe even less)
✦Affordable – I got mine for about $35 CAD at Walmart
✦While you can use it on wet hair with decent results, it does make your hair feel dry and damaged after & the loud sizzling that accompanies the wet hair straightening is really unsettling lol you can hear and smell the damage being done
✦Hair doesn’t feel dry or damaged after use on dry hair but it also doesn’t feel nourished or healthy like the product claims it would
✦The flat iron plates don’t clamp down snuggly onto the hair. You have to pinch the head of the upper and lower plates together as you glide the straightener down your hair. It can be a pain if you’re in a rush.
✦It doesn’t make your hair pin straight like a Chi or a GHD flat iron. It gives your hair more of a natural straight hair look….Which, actually is also a pro if you want your hair to look straight but not flat or pin straight.
Here is a picture of my sister before and after she used the Reminton Wet 2 Straight flat iron.
I would give this hair styling tool a 3.5/5 stars. It does work on dry AND wet hair and if you really are in a rush every morning and you’re looking for a wet 2 straight flat iron then this does the job. I deducted a few points because the plates didn’t fully clamp down on my hair and because it does make your hair feel pretty dry if you use it on wet hair.
Worth the money?
I would say it is worth the money. It’s under $40 which is really affordable, it works well and it’s easy to find. I’ve seen it at Walmart and Target.
Would I recommend this product?
Yes I would IF you are looking for an affordable drugstore product. BUT if you have the budget to spend between $100- $170 then go for a CHI or GHD instead haha they are the bomb and they don’t come with the issues that a lot of the drugstore flat irons have.
I hope this helped you! If you have an questions or comments don’t hesitate to leave them below 🙂
