My Hair Colour Update – What I Use to Dye My Hair
Happy Friday everyone! I always get asked what colour my hair is and what dye I use so today’s post is going to be a quick one dedicated to my hurr…
I dyed my hair a little less than a month ago and I used the L’Oreal Superior Preference Les True Brunettes, Ultra Light Ash Brown UL61. It’s meant for dark hair so it does a fantastic job at lightening my hair to a light/medium brown. The dye is an ‘ash brown’ but since my hair is black the dye changes my hair to more of a reddish brown which is what I like (for the moment lol I will probably change it again in a few months).
If you want to know more about dyeing asian or dark hair lighter then check out my post here.
Q: How long do you leave it in?
A: 45 minutes. Do a strand test with your own hair to determine how long you should leave it on. Everyone’s hair has a different processing time.
Q: Does it make your hair feel dead?
A: It doesn’t.
Q: Will it work on my super black/brown hair?
A: Yes, it should. Do a strand test to make sure.
Q: Will it work on my hair that has already been dyed brown?
A: Yes, it will lighten hair that has been previously dyed brown.
Q: Will it work on my hair that has been previously dyed black?
A: No, because it’s not strong enough to lift the black dye.
Q: How often do you have to re-dye your hair or do a root touch up?
A: Every 2 1/2 to 3 months.
Q: How much is it?
A: About $11 CAD.
If you have any more questions leave them down below and I will do my best to answer them!
