Lipstick Queen ‘Frog Prince’ Lipstick Review
Frog Prince by Lipstick Queen is the kind of product that reminds me why I love makeup so much. It’s whimsical, good quality and wearer-specific.
The pink velvety-matte tube houses a vibrant green lipstick that according the The Lipstick Queen’s website glides on the lips clear before transforming into a
magical rosebud upon contact with the lips. Don’t be fooled by the deep green hue of this semi-sheer lipstick – the green reacts with the warmth of your lips turning them an intense, fairy tale rose. No two pairs of lips will look the same as it adapts according to your pH and natural coloring, appearing entirely different yet beautifully flattering on everyone. Vitamin E and Shea Butter keep lips soft, hydrated and deliciously kissable. And just like true love itself, this enchanting shade was made to last. Lips remain their blissful pink all day long from just one lingering, magical Frog Prince kiss.
First let’s talk about how beautiful this lipstick is. Just looking at it makes me happy. The emerald lipstick and the pink tube come together to create a very aesthetically pleasing product. The tube is very smooth, has some weight to it and feels really good in the hand. It doesn’t feel cheap at all.
On me the lipstick turns into a deep berry colour that I do find very flattering against my skin tone. When first applied, it adds a soft sheen to the lips that lasts a good hour before it wears off to a natural finish. Staying power wise, if I don’t eat it will stay pigmented for up to 5 hours but If I eat or drink something then the colour will wear off and leave a nice pink stain on my lips, which I love. It’s also very, very moisturizing and comfortable on my lips. It feels like a lipbalm, not a lipstick.
♥ The product itself is beautiful
♥ Turns into the perfect shade of pink for who ever is wearing it which is awesome
♥ Applies semi sheer but it’s buildable. The more you apply the more pigmented it becomes
♥ Long lasting
♥ Very moisturizing
♥ Good quality
❦ Pricey – It retails for $25 USDwhich I agree, is a bit much
❦ Not readily available. I haven’t seen it in any makeup store in Canada D: Can only purchase it through the Lipstick Queen’s website.
In case you want to know what’s in the lipstick:
I love products like this, that have a uniqueness you don’t often see. It’s not original by any means, Dior has a similar product, as does E.L.F but I still really enjoy it. Whimsical-ness aside, it’s an all around really good product. It’s pigmented, long lasting and moisturizing. What more can you ask for from a lip product!? I do think that it’s a bit pricey for what is essentially more of a lipbalm/stain than a lipstick but since the colour is so flattering on me I will probably repurchase this again haha If you like a more sheer and natural kind of lip product then give this a go someday. If you like pigmented lipsticks? Maybe not haha
