Flawless Foundation Routine

Many people assume that a flawless foundation base can be tricky to master, especially since there are thousands of products out there that claim to blur imperfections, minimize fine lines, eliminate redness -you name it! What to buy then? It can become overwhelming! But it’s really quite simple and today I’m going to show you how I achieve a flawless foundation base every time.
In the ‘before’ picture above, I have my eyes and eyebrows done but other than that and moisturizer, I don’t have anything on my skin.

My flawless foundation routine is very simple but oh, so effective.

Let’s jump right into it!

Primer for foundation routine
Step 1: Illuminator/Primer
I always begin by applying an illuminating product on my face. I apply this before my foundation because I want my skin to have a luminous finish. I push the illuminator into the areas of my face where my foundation is likely to wear off during the day because it also acts as a primer. Skin to me should not look completely matte because that’s just not how healthy skin looks in real life so I almost always use an illuminator under my foundation -it makes my face look like I’m glowing from within without looking oily.

Step 2: Foundation
Next is foundation, and I just dot that all over my face to make the blending process easier. After that it’s time to blend. The real techniques miracle complexion is my secret to flawless skin. I blend and spread the foundation by bouncing the sponge around my face with the flat part to cover more surface area. Every time I use a foundation, if I blend it out with this beauty sponge, it always looks flawless. Always. It smooths the foundation over fine lines and pores while eliminating any cakey areas. If you’ve been having trouble with your foundation because you find that it looks too cakey and thick on your face even if you aren’t using that much, then give this sponge a go. I’m certain you will see a difference.

How to get rid of dark circles
Step 3: Conceal
I start by applying the concealer underneath my eyes to cover my dark circles, as well as around my nose and the corners of my mouth. Then I go in and blend the concealer with my ring finger. I always start with my finger first because the heat from your finger will melt the concealer a bit and make it easier to blend. Also, I’m sure you’ve heard this a thousand times, but the best finger to use when dealing with the areas around your eyes, is your ring finger because it is the gentles of all your fingers (haha). Blend the concealer upwards toward your cheekbones and also in a triangle shape underneath your eyes to simultaneously highlight this area of your face. When you are satisfied that the concealer is spread out evenly, blend it out further with the miracle sponge to diffuse the concealer and make it look more natural.

Powder foundation
Final Step: Powder
The final step is powder. With a fluffy brush pick up some of the powder and gently pat that onto the areas that you’ve applied concealer on and only on those areas, otherwise you might end up looking a bit cakey. Also, try not to sweep the brush across your face because you might disturb the concealer underneath.

Final
And you’re done! Here’s a picture of me posing with my sponge after I’ve applied some blush and lipstick LOL.
